Facial vein
The main vein of the face. It runs down behind the facial artery, crosses the lower border of the mandible and joins the anterior division of the retromandibular vein as the common facial vein.
Function
Drains the face, lips and chin into the internal jugular vein.
Clinical relevance
It has connections to the veins of the orbit, so infections of the upper lip and nose can spread inward.
